Insta Update

Big league spring training has begun and it's almost time for minor league camp to start! More and more baseball wives are saying goodbye to their men and I feel so grateful that I got the opportunity to travel with AJ this season.

We've been in Florida for two months and I'm not even tan. I suppose that's what working 45 hours a week will do to you! On my days off I try to change that by going to the pool, but the adult in me always pulls out the sunscreen. I've seen too many leather bodies. Gone are the days of tanning oil.

Willa has gone from a 2.8 pound princess to a 9 pound rascal. She ran right into the pond the other day.
We have nicknamed her "Alligator Bait."

We have loved seeing our family and friends via Face Time lately! We met AJ's siblings significant others through the screen. How cool is technology? We also got to see our niece Maddie walking around like a little adult.

We can't wait for our visitors to start coming! First up is AJ's parents, only two weeks away!

Our place!

Welcome to our abode! This post got lost somewhere in the mix. (new blogger alert)
Here is a mini tour of our temporary home! --cue the Carrie Underwood music--

The den has somehow turned into "Willa's room," every single toy she owns always ends up in that room. We're pretty sure she has claimed it as her bedroom.

These pictures were taken well over a month ago, little Willa is double that size now!

I have been MIA from the blog for a bit. I have been working a LOT and when I had three days off I conveniently got the stomach flu! Needless to say, my superbowl snacks included saltenes and gatorade.
We also have more guests! Willa's BFF Rylee, along with our newlywed friends Jennifer & Adam.
We love having them here. (Willa obviously thinks the same)

U Pick Citrus

AJ's teammate Tim has been staying with us this week (our first visitor! yay!)
He has been staying at the team hotel, so he hasn't had a kitchen. Since he missed cooking, he has cooked a fabulous meal every night. Last night's menu consisted of steak, shrimp, cous cous, mashed potatoes, and squash. After dinner, he puts together left overs in a container for me to take to work.
Oh and... He likes to clean the kitchen.
Can we keep him?

Since we moved here, we've been seeing homemade garage sale signs that say "U PICK CITRUS" with an arrow. We didn't exactly know how far from the sign we would need to go, but yesterday we ventured out to find the citrus. It was a cute farm with miles of orange, lemon, lime, and grapefruit trees. They say "fill up a bucket!" for $10. Yes please! We promptly juiced oranges when we got home and it was glorious.

We also found a toy cadillac in the garage and decided to take it for a spin around the neighborhood. I'm thinking next week I'll take it to the pool.

Weekend

70's and sunny all week as I sat inside a classroom and learned about NCH Hospital.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday= clouds & rain
We had big plans with the pool and the citrus farm!
I suppose I shouldn't be mad about having to stay inside in January. Hope you all are cozy by a fireplace in freezing Minnesota right now. We escaped just in time.

This week I have 3 days with a preceptor on my unit and then I'm on my own! Scary stuff. I am now understanding why they call it the "Mayo bubble." I was a sheltered princess nurse ;)

Last feat of the weekend is a haircut + bath for little miss Willa Jane. We'll see how this goes...

Just want to say a quick HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my amazing grandparents.
(Their birthdays are one week apart)
We love you and already miss Sunday dinners!

Settling in

We've been settling into our new home this week and it's still a little messy so no pictures *quite* yet. We ventured out to the beach today and loved getting a little Florida sun on our Minnesota skin. AJ has been working out at the Twin's complex every morning and I'm enjoying my last week without work!

We've been taking little Willa Jane for her first walks and it usually goes something like the pictures posted below.

1) Walking like a champ
2) Over it, lays down in the middle of the road
...and after a little "come on Willa!"
3) Carried home

We go a little further each time before she lays down so that's progress, right?
